STILL AWAITING WORD FROM POSTAL SERVICE ON THEIR DECISION

We are still awaiting word from the U.S. Postal Service's stamp selection body, the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC), on their decision of whether or not to place the Nisei WWII veterans commemorative stamp proposal "under consideration" for a possible year 2010 release. The CSAC met on January 24-25th, 2008, to look over proposals for their 2010-2011 stamps. Though the CSAC can notify the campaign about possibly being placed "under consideration," their final decision and stamp design would likely not be known until the fall preceding the year when the stamp would be available in post offices for purchase, according to their stated policy.

We ask that supporters continue to campaign in support of the stamp until we know for sure that the stamp will be issued. We ask that the Postal Service be urged to issue the stamp at the soonest possible date.
