French campaign for the stamp
An active campaign for the stamp has developed in France, especially in the areas where the Nisei veterans liberated towns like Bruyeres and Biffontaine. The effort in France is largely being organized by the young Frenchman Gerome Villain. Letters of support and petition signatures are being collected in support of the campaign. Note: The Postal Service does not exclude people of other nations from participating in the stamp selection process, as long as all of the criteria of the Postal Service stamps are met.
